Dalai lama & how to increase love and compassion in the world

I was going to discuss our hearts as powerful generators and transformers and how my new meditation coming out next week uses this power in amazing new ways…we will do that tomorrow….I read this in a newsletter called The Light Circle Ezine and wanted to share it.

“In these current times the country of Tibet and its spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, are featuring very prominently in the news. Many Tibetans are calling for their rights to be respected: the right to govern themselves, to live peacefully, to openly practice their faith and to create and live out their own unique culture. The Dalai Lama has shared a simple spiritual practice with us that would increase love and compassion in the world. He has requested that in turn, we practice and share this material with others.

1. Spend five minutes at the beginning of each day remembering that we all want the same things, (to be happy and to be loved) and that we are all connected to one another.

2. Spend five minutes breathing in – cherishing yourself, then breathing out – cherishing others. If you think of people you have difficulty with, extend your cherishing to them anyway.

3. During the day extend that attitude to everyone you meet. Practice cherishing the simplest person, (clerks, attendants, etc.) as well as the important people in your life. Cherish those you like and dislike.

4. Continue this practice no matter what happens and what anyone does to you.”

Remember to breathe through your heart and feel love in every cell…for yourself, for life, for all. Have a fantastic day!!!
